Hello! I am exploring MBA options in Canada for a career in finance. I would appreciate any recommendations you might have and would especially value reviews from current students and alumni!

Hi Duncan, I've read through some of the postings and I have decided to apply to these schools:
McGill
University of Toronto
Queen's University
York University
University of Western Ontario
Do you have any comments or suggestions about my school choice considering I want to work in finance (in Canada)?
Thanks in advance!

Good choices. Rotman and Ivey are the only ones listed in FT's Finance MBA ranking, but you could make a case for McGill or even Ivey. Schulich is probably the weakest of the bunch.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I'm happy to have a good list of programs to apply to. I'm going to take the GMAT in July and I'll check back here if I have any other questions. Thanks again!

An update that I scored 680 on the GMAT. In the next few months I'll be moving forward with my apps for McGill and Rotman. The others have earlier intakes that will unfortunately be problematic for my plans. Thanks again for the advices.

That's too bad because Ivey would be a great school for finance. Rotman's not bad either. You can't really expect a US-level salary, though!

Don't need a US level salary if I'm living in Canada! :)

Depends. Toronto is not an 'inexpensive' city by any means. I'd say, if you were getting the average salary that Rotman is reporting right after your MBA, and you lived in Toronto, your quality of life would be similar to if you had the average NYU salary and were living in NYC.

This may be so but it's decidedly above my budget! Any thoughts on Ryerson?
