Now, I don't know much about logic - Ralph's background is in investment banking, not philosophy - but, I do believe that your second statement requires a substantial burden of proof - one that perhaps, may not be met by your attending only informational sessions. Because wouldn't you say that those may only "scratch the surface" of what the program provides in its actual classes?

I attended an actual class along with the students. I also reviewed the materials that were presented in the actual class. I compared those with other schools. Ivey is lagging behind in terms of the depth and the breath of the materials.

Can you elaborate one of particular module mate.

Finance would be an example where we can measure real depth of the course. Marketing and leadership or negotiation would be a bit more difficult to judge.

So what do they do? some excel spreadsheet with built-in functions useful for those community colleges ?

I though Ivey biz school is considered as the "harvard" of canada due to their case-study teaching style and vast networks.
I think case-study teaching style is not for everyone.
Only those who are interested to enter management consultant and or ex-consultant who want to enter banking industry reap the benefit of this teaching style.
I know that INSEAD, IMD, IESE and some other US biz school have similar teaching style and the students seems loving it there.

IVEY is a big brand..well reputed school... and brand sells... :-)

Ivey only has shadow of the past. They used to have a much bigger class size. But, they failed to place their students and a lot of their students were not getting jobs after graduation. Imagine after spending all the tuition and efforts but getting nothing at the end of the day. So, Ivey ended up downsizing their class size.

Their case method is not as strong as other schools. Their faculty members did not have much solid business experience. So, there is a disconnect between what is taught with the real world.

All I am saying is that you should consider all of these before putting your own money on the line.

If you back your statements up with hard facts or data than they would be worth considering. Otherwise, you are just another unsubstantiated blowhard on the internet.

Without more information, all i'm hearing is: "I'm bashing the school because I didn't get in, and now i need to ruin its reputation so my friends would believe when I say 'i just decided not to go' by pointing them towards this board, making it sound more reasonable an excuse."

Provide data, as stated above, please. I'm not 100% doubting you, because if what you are saying is true, this is very valuable information. But the internet is full of fools, so hard facts usually is in need.

Especially for the one-year MBA, the school designed this only to give advantage for the school. They only want to maximize their revenue and reduce cost, which unfortunately, reduce the quality of education for the students.

I also have many other thoughts but again, I do not recommend Ivey Business School</blockquote>

We did a Ivey B School's case study for the Operations Research module at Warwick B School. The case study was regarding a refrigeration company named MacPherson. The case was of high quality and I would rate it better than all the Harvard, Sloan and Stanford cases I solved during the tenure of my masters course. The case was a part of group exercise and was so bloody difficult that we were silently crying out to be relieved! It was around 1am at morning when we cracked the case! I will remember the night for the rest of my life and judging by the quality of the case I beg to differ on the views posted augustini. As per me one information session lasting a couple of hours is never enough to judge the quality of a b school.
