Ivey is considered the "best" MBA in Canada. Ivey is considered good for Consulting and has a case based teaching approach (last I checked in 2012). I personally like McGill's curriculum and the big university brand name that it carry.

I would order them Ivey, McGill, Sauder, Alberta

Maybe look at Queen's and HEC Montreal while you are at it.

McGill above Ivey is a surprise. I guess the one year programme is too young to feed into the ranking?

Wow, thanks everybody. A couple of additional follow ups...

- Queen's comes up quite a bit. how does it stack up to McGill, Alberta, Ivey? Is it right to assume that many of the school's graduates are working in Toronto?

- I've looked at the employment data for McGill and it says that 50 percent of grads find work in Montreal. Does that mean that they usually are fluent in French? It seems to me that much of the management level jobs in MTL require both French and English, but maybe I am wrong.

For Queen's placements, I would assume that since like 35-40 percent of the grads go into financial services, and Toronto is the financial capital of the country, that many grads do indeed end up in Toronto. But not everybody.

In terms of language fluency: I'd think that not speaking French would most likely put you at a disadvantage for many jobs. But check with McGill; perhaps they have placement details on this.
