Well, Canada is a big country with only a few business centers. I would say it's wise to look towards Toronto. It's got a strong economy, is the largest business capital in the country and is home to some of the best b-schools. It's also the most multi-cultural city in the world, so this works in your favor if you're coming from India.

I am mainly planning to go for Finance if I get the right kind of opportunity. I know to succeed in this field one needs to have prior work experience but still I have propensity towards this field. What do you think about this as a concentration ?

Well, it's good that you have two years experience, because that's usually the minimum. It also depends on your GMAT scores.

John Molson School of Business requires 580 or better
Simon Fraser University and Thompson Rivers University requires 550 or better.

So these are pretty average scores.

In terms of financial centers, Vancouver is ranked 7th in North America, ahead of Montreal, so Simon Fraser might be a better bet.

I'd say you have a pretty average chance of getting in. I would look into the Alumni network at each school. Try to connect with international students to hear their impressions about the admissions process.

Hi,

"business development and marketing" is a pretty wide field.

Sometimes it's counterproductive if you don't have clear ideas about where are you headed after your MBA.

Why don't you try to define a few positions you would really like (and firms) and a few you don't?
