I saw that the University of Calgary is launching a new EMBA in global energy - is anybody going to apply for this?

I like the program's structure - in addition to the home base in Calgary, students take classes in London, China, Houston, and somewhere in the Middle East (probably Qatar, the article I was reading said.)

I'm from the States and want to eventually make it to the Middle East to work in energy consulting. Do you think this would be a good program for me?

Does anybody have any insight for me?

I've been doing some research on other programs in Canada with an energy focus, and found that the University of Alberta has a "Natural Resources and Energy" concentrations. Does anybody have any idea about how this compares to the UofC EMBA? I think the global focus of UofC's program is a selling point, but maybe it would spread students too thin.

Thanks Duncan. I've looked through the list you provided but couldn't find any in Canada - and I think that's where I'd like to end up. I'll keep searching, but maybe a more generalist program would be better for me.

Hi Bob,

Yes, that's exactly my point. However, when I do the same analysis for Canada - to see the 'alma matum' of MBAs in the oil industry - then Calgary is at the top... with quite a margin.
