As Duncan mentioned, don't bother. Acceptance rates at SFU are quite high, so why not SFU? Also, the job market is quite terrible in Vancouver for MBAs. Why do one there if it's not a brand name like UBC?

That's basically what I figured. But what do you mean that the job market for MBAs is not good in Vancouver? I was examining the UBC employment report, and it seems like there are opportunities in the Vancouver tech sector, as well as wider opportunities in BC and elsewhere in energy.

Career_Development/Career_Outcomes is good reading. 68% employed 3 months after the end of the programme.

Although that number does jump to 92% in the three months following graduation. I'm not clear what the distinction is between the end of the program and graduation, but there may be some kind of practical component in between the two that explains the ap.

What's interesting to me is that almost 90 percent of graduates end up in Canada - from a cohort that tends to be made of of about half international students... Meaning that a good number of international students stay in the country after graduation.

Thanks for this info. It does surprise me a bit that the post-MBA salaries tend to be so low - at least compared to other ranked schools in Canada (even Ivey has higher averages.) It's doubly surprising considering that the cost of living in Vancouver is so high... I may have to re-evaluate.

That's what I meant when I said the job market for MBAs was terrible in Vancouver. Unless you are a petroleum engineer, a geologist, a real estate agent or a software engineer, Vancouver is a terrible job market and as you said, the cost of living is very expensive (due to massive rich Asian immigration).
