I did read a post about H-ICS, unfortunately, the recent comments are not many. So I would like to hear about the current situation of it.

In general, my goal of MBA is to deepen my understanding of Japanese business practice and my language skill. I would like to stay in Japan for a period (Japanese culture addicted dilemma). I did some minor research and found out that the program H-ICS aligns with my requirements :

1. Taught in English
2. Low tuition fee
3. Diversity (with some Japanese (referred to the post about Hitotsubashi)

I have looked into NBS-WBS program from your recommendation. It looks promising. I will keep it as my alternatives too. Just the high tuition cost and competitiveness of the Singaporean which I concern. Yet, I really appreciate if you elaborate more about your opinion and downside of attending this place Duncan as I am a novice about the MBA world.

What's your nationality? Maybe a Japanese language course could be better?

My nationality is Thai. I once had considered Japanese language course. However, I think to study business in Japan will grant me with business insight and etiquette of Japan deeper than just a language course (I plan to study language along with my degree since I know language proficiency is A-must for job opportunity there)

You won't learn the language deeply while studying in English. A language course will absolutely embed you in the national culture. Many language schools are full of people who are preparing to enter the workforce, and the curriculum reflects that.

Japanese MBA programs are rather niche. What do you plan to do with the degree?

Good in what sense? I can't think of any MBA in Japan that would be more valuable than a year of learning Japanese if you wanted to work in Japan. Japanese firms value working from the bottom up so the MBA is a rather marginal, niche product.

If you dont speak Japanese , coming to japan and settle down will be extremely tough.
Unless IT industry ( developer / programmer job) you need japanese must.
Moreover in Japan,having a MBA is actually nothing if its not from M7 or Oxbridge.
So even if you graduated from Hitsotsubashi ,it will be just another degree in Japan market .
So think again before you jump in any conclusion.

I am already fluent in Japanese, so a year of learning Japanese would be a waste.

What I learned from my classmate (Teru) who came from Japan to get his MBA from College of William & Mary, is that Japanese respect and value US education.

Yes. In my opinion they are seen similarly. McGill in particular has a better and stronger reputation outside of Canada. Perhaps try enrolling for a practice class at McGill Japan and speak with the present cohort? Actually you can/should do the same for all your target schools if you can. Nothing like getting a first hand feel of things.

You haven't mentioned any goals, career or otherwise, so it is a bit hard to suggest something specific. Why do you want to do an MBA? And why, if you speak Japanese, are you looking at these English-language options only? Having a sense of what you want to do and where you want to go would help.
