I don't think many NGOs hire MBAs as business strategy consultants, but the is a programme which comes to mind: Global Business and Sustainability (MBA) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

I think the best options are your price point will be in out-of-the-way places. There are some good programmes, many with AMBA accreditation, like The University of Wales, Aberystwyth, Cnam in Paris, Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM), Koc University ? Istanbul, CEU in Hungary. Maybe Regent's College London ?

I don't really know about job opportunities but NGO's are constantly project focused..so i would say that project management and strategy applies there..

Anyway, i don't want my MBA targeting there. I just mentioned it to let you know that I don't persue carreer in banking, accounting etc. I see me working in high-scale project focused organisations/ enterprises.

If you can bump your budget a bit, HEC Geneve's International Organizations MBA is well-suited for your profile and career goals.

Thanks Duncan. I hinged my reply on the budget of this prospective MBA applicant which can easliy be accommodated by Oulu Business School. I am alumnus of OBS and was impressed with the standard there. I also know that EM Lyon, CEU Budapest, University of Groningen can also boast of having good business schools based on my interactions with them. I am not trying to sound partial but my posts were borne of low MBA budgets and the opportunities offered by this Nordic country.

Two years ago I visited CNAM and ESSEC, both Paris-region 'grande ecoles' with one-year AMBA-accredited MBA programmes. What really impressed me at CNAM was that foreign students (in particular I think the ones from Asia) all have some French before they arrive and also weekly business French lessons through the three timesters of the taught courses. On Fridays, when the part-time students some in to CNAM, they share some classes with the full-time students. That's also a very useful way of helping students to start to develop their soft skills for working with French managers.

Interesting. CNAM doesn't really come up a lot in discussions here - seems like a rather decent deal at about half the cost of ESSEC. And it's actually in Paris, whereas many of the other MBA programs there are at least a train ride away from the city center. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but if you're networking in Paris and commuting out to INSEAD, for instance, it ends up being a lot of time on the train or in a car.

Although, I would be curious about placement and mobility statistics, especially for international students.

I'd say it's rather less than half the educational and networking value of ESSEC. The location is great, but the facilities are very threadbare; think of a municipal language school. CNAM itself doesn't have an awesome reputation, and there are few if any French students or major French employers hiring there. With the exception of their pathway in fashion, I don't really who it's a good fit for -- other than someone with a very limited budget.

It is worth a try to verify the facilities of the CNAM Paris (292 rue St. Martin, 75003 and 2 rue Conte, 75003. Feel free to visit the sites or / and to talk with the alumni. Besides, the reputation of the CNAM is not business oriented as ESSEC, but it is not less appreciated. CNAM's Engineers and CNAM's graduates are highly appreciated by the enterprises, searching for hard-working and experienced professionals, based on their actual competencies.

I think Cnam is a really useful provider of business degrees. I wish you the very best of luck. But it's just silly to say that Cnam is not less appreciated than ESSEC. You were saying about ESSEC, EM Lyon, ESCP, HEC...as institutions, not as programs. The reputation of the CNAM is based on the fact that its high quality and serious programs are provided to people with very low or as you said "cheap" tuition. CNAM MBA is a very clear example: a program, with more than 1000 contact hours, 13 core courses, 5 specializations, all courses taught in English, accredited by AMBA and French government (titre RNCP niveau I), study trips to UK, US, Romania...included, high level professors, among those many are teaching at CNAM MBA and at other Grandes Ecoles like HEC, ESSEC...We are not looking for profits, but more for training better Managers for the society. CEU is a good value, but not the best choice if you are looking to work in France.

no it offers emba but what abt mba at cnam is a good choice for postgrad working options?
