That is a totally credible ranking of undergraduate programmes. It's not a good guide for post-experience programmes: for that, use the FT and Economist.

I have a bachelor's degree from india along with 2 years of part time work experience + 2.5 years of full time work experience in the advertising industry.

I plan on acquiring my masters this year at a university in the UK. I have applied to Leeds, Westminster, Birmingham, Kingston and Brighton for their marketing communications MA/MSc's and Cardiff for their MBA in Media Management.

What's your take on the best option?

I plan to return to India post studying.

Birmingham is, by far, the best of those business schools.

If you don't want to work in the UK, why are you focussing on the UK? Your limited budget will no go far here. There are inexpensive, accredited MSc and MBA degrees in other countries for a fraction of the cost.Look at the FT MSc rankings and search this board for MBAs in English at good schools like Cnam in France, UCM3 in Spain and the CEU in Hungary.

Sir, I am in a dilemma as I have got offers from both EBS and HHL in Germany.
EBS has confirmed a 50% waiver in Tuition. I am very much inclined towards HHL. So, I have not even applied for Mannheim. But, 50% is a lot of money nonetheless. I am still waiting for HHL scholarship result.
Can you please tell me which of these two has better prospect in Germany? I don't have any certified German knowledge but I am in pursuit of it already. I know that I have to master the language asap in order to get a career in Germany.

HHL is offering FT MBA in 2 tracks i.e. 15 and 21 months respectively. Is it possible to get hold of German in 15 months? My financial constraints demand me to move into professional career asap.
Also, since you had been at HHL, I wonder if you can compare between 15 and 21 months MBA. Which has better job prospect? I am planning to settle in Germany upon completion of my MBA. Will they allow me to stay upto 18 months for search of jobs? How long it may take to get a decent job if say you acquire B2 level by the end of MBA?
Also, I have gone through the posts and links you provided in your earlier posts regarding Racism in Leipzig. How critical is this issue? I had been to Koln, Hannover and Hamburg for a very short period of time in 2009, I never noticed such things. The main reason behind choosing Germany is its liberal culture and strong economy.

It's perfectly possible to learn German in 15 months, but I don't see how that can be done while taking a demanding MBA in English.

These two modes at HHL are new: you should ask them about the differences and the current visa rules in Germany.

East Germany is very different from the rich cities in West Germany which you have visiting. The racist NDP is a major party in the East. Visit http://www.toytowngermany.com/ and search the forum with the keyword Racism.

@gboy: Maybe I can shed some light on the issues raised by you. Learning German within 15 month is easy, but not while doing an MBA at the same time!
Regarding the two different tracks, I think it would be better for you to go with the 21-month track because it gives you the possibility to do an internship (which you will definitely need, should youi plan to work in Germany afterwards) and you'll be able to learn German for another 6 months.
Finally, let me lose some words concerning the racism issue. Since my arrival in Leipzig 6 months ago, I have never experienced racism nor have I heard of anyone from HHL who has experienced something like this. Furthermore, I would also challenge Duncan's view of Leipzig (or East germany in general) being different than West Germany. I myself come from (South-)West Germany and I cannot see any major differences anymore, at least not if talking about the major cities (Leipzig, Dresden....).

Another short remark: Saying that the NPD is a "major party" in East Germany is a bit overexaggerated. There are very few parts of East Germany (mostly small villages) where the NPD is an established player but this is certainly not true for major cities like Leipzig. In fact, the NPD got less than 3% in the last local elections in Leipzig.

Forgive the exaggeration. Let me be more specific: In Saxony, the region where Leipzig is, the NPD is one of six parties in the parliament. It has 8 of the 132 seats.

In fact Prof. Velamuri, who interviewed me has personally suggested me to go for the 21 months track only. I am also planning to attend the August German language classes.
@Naked do you have any idea about the visa rule, i.e. how long does one get blue card after completion of studies for search of jobs? how difficult is it to get a job after completion of MBA? Of course HHL's flyer and record show very promising prospect. But, as a current student of HHL you will be the best to judge I guess!
