MBA in Berlin for a non-work-experiece guy.

Hi.
I'm interested in doing an MBA in Berlin and I've some questions that I hope u can help me with.

Nowadays, Im finishing my Computer Engineering degree (IT) in my university in Madrid. I guess I will finish it in June or September as late.
I want to apply for an MBA in Berlin for this year (september 09) but I can see that most schools requires you to have some work experience, which I don't have (just had basic partial jobs).
Im quite flexible with the MBA I want (full-time, part-time, 1/ 2 years...), but I would like it to be in Berlin for several reasons.
I should also say that I'm not very informed about which specific MBA I want, but Im interested in a wide range of economycs studies, and marketing as well.

There is also the thing that Im looking for fundings for paying the MBA, but in Spain there are just few and quite hard to get. I will appreciate if you could tell me other ways to get them, from german government or whatever.

Hi Marcos,

I am sorry that I have to disappoint you. The renowned MBA programs in Germany require - like any good MBA in the world - a few years of job experience. If a school admits candidates without job experience, this is a clear indicator of the poor quality of the program (Ihave heard that GISMA did that in the past). Have you ever thought about a Master of Management (MSc) as an alternative?

Ok, thats what I thought. But I am thinking in doing an economy master and all fingers points to an MBA like the only serious option.
Master of Management sounds nice, do you know good places for it in Germany?

Hi Marcos,

In the national rankings the Universities of Mannheim, Cologne, Munster, Frankfurt and Munich and the private WHU are the frontrunners. I do not know if they all offer a master program yet, since Germany is slowly adapting the international system. In the FT Masters in Management ranking, only Mannheim and Cologne are listed.

As Johnny said, Mannheim (triple accredited) and WHU (Equis) would be the top choices for an MBA in Germany. Their real strengths are their EMBA programs (partnerships with ESSEC and Kellogg), though.

Cologne University does not offer an MBA, at least I haven't heard of it. They did offer a part-time course called Global eManagement MBA, but I think that program was discontinued. Cologne Business School (CBS) and Rheinische Fachhochschule Koeln are NOT part of Cologne University.
