Opinion needed: Applying for Masters in Marketing

Hello, All!

I am from the Philippines and have been contemplating on furthering my studies abroad for the ff. reasons: (1) to change my career path and develop a career with more global focus and (2) to get a job overseas (preferably in Europe) or in the country I decide to study in.

I have a degree in Psychology and have over two years worth of experience as an HR Specialist. I would like to prepare myself for a career in Marketing and that is why I am interested to take an MSc programme in Marketing. Will my lack of solid foundation and knowledge in Marketing put me in a distinct disadvantage when applying?

Also, since I would like to secure a job after having finished the program and that most countries in Europe have English as their second language, is it advisable to take on an intensive language course before taking a masters degree?

You opinions and suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you!

The big challenge with the European countries would probably be the language barrier. For instance, HEC Paris has a fantastic MSc in Marketing, but without solid French skills landing a job in the country after graduation will be tricky. That said, if you did an MSc program from a school like HEC Paris, your mobility options are more open, and the degree would most likely help a lot if you went back to your home country or went somewhere where there is a substantial HEC alumni network (Qatar, for instance.)

The other option would be to do your MSc at a good school in the UK - Imperial's Master in Strategic Marketing, for instance. In this case, you'd be in an English-speaking country. Of course, the visa situation in the UK tends to be a bit complicated:
