ACCELERATE ONLINE EMBA or MBA

Hi All,
I need some advice regarding accelerated online MBA's.
I have almost 40 years of life experience in the oil and gas industry 25 years of which have been in Executive Director positions such as Managing Director (15 years), Operations director (5 years) Global Projects director (5 years) of which I never had any formal training.
Now at the ripe old age of 56 it has become essential that I require an MBA or EMBA to step further up the ladder to COO, CEO or Chairman position.
Based on my life experience I'm confident that I can easily complete an accelerated online course.
However I need you guys to advise on what are the best options.

Appreciate any advice that can be given.

I'm not sure what you mean by accelerated. IE has a short online MBA but I think it would be very hard to complete alongside a full time job. The Illinois and Warwick online MBAs are hard to beat.

What I mean by accelerated is a fast track course due to experience gained in my professional career, i.e I have been through every aspect in business that would enable me to rapidly go through the course requirements.

With such experience maybe consider a very good EMBA (not online), they usually have very few meetings and are designed for working executives

The MBA is an academic degree, not a competency-based professional evaluation. No matter how experienced you are in general management, you will encounter new theories and will have to learn. No internationally-respected MBA will allow you to take a faster, shorter track because of your experience.

George is right that an EMBA will give you a much better return on your investment.

As far as I know, the only time you'll be able to waive courses is if you've done similar courses elsewhere - for instance I know of some MBAs in the US that will waive accounting courses if you've got CMA or CPA certification. Or sometimes if you've already done some MBA-level courses from a school with accreditation, you might be able to get one or two waived if you're transferring into another school with that accreditation.

But I've never heard of an MBA waiving courses for work experience. I don't think that happens.
