I honestly believe that the best accreditation is the school's ability to get you into a better job - whether with Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, Blackrock etc - as long as it gets you in, that's good enough.

If not, then probably an AACSB and EQUIS accredited school would be good enough.

From what I understand, AMBA is a UK designation, the EQUIS is more of a continental European designation, and the AACSB is an american designation. Which one is better? I don't think any of them are, what matters is that you have at least one of them, then the general reputation of the school kicks in.

But from what I have read from various sources, schools that have EQUIS has almost never been rejected when they applied for the AACSB designation, however, AACSB schools often fail to obtain EQUIS. This would suggest that EQUIS might be slightly tougher to obtain. However, AACSB has been around for much longer and is much more known. AMBA is probably at the bottom of them all, but having it can't be bad. Have all three and it's triple accreditation, but in my opinion having just AACSB and EQUIS is enough.

I think the accreditation only matters if you plan to continue going to school post MBA. When applying for PhD programs, the accreditation of your Master's degree is very important. If the MBA is going to be a terminal degree for you, the I agree with Fishball: "What matters is the job!"

A good school should be able to help place you in a good company to start your post MBA career. The first job after your MBA will define you more than the name of the school that you went to. After you land your first job, future employers are more interested in what you have accomplished than what you learned in school.

The school that you attend is only half of the equation. You also have to be able to market yourself and talk about your accomplishments and what you can offer an employer in the job interview. The MBA is not a golden ticket to a high paying job. It can be the cover charge into a top level interview though. Once you are at the interview, the rest is up to you.

And is it true that a non-accredited b-school of UK or Australia will have more value than aascb accrediated b-school of South Korea or Taiwan through out the world?
