Hello all,
I have received the following admits:
1) MSc Strategic Marketing from Cranfield University
2) MSc in Consumer Analytics & Marketing from University of Leeds
3) MSc in Marketing & Analytics from Aston University
4) MSc Marketing from Strathclyde Business School
5) MSc Marketing from Lancaster University
6) MSc Marketing & Brand Management from Kingston University, it also includes one year of work placement.

Awaiting decisions from UCD Smurfit & Alliance Manchester Business School
Goals: Post Masters, I want to work in a marketing/digital marketing/ analytics role (open to sport analytics roles too). I want to work in the UK for at least two to three years so that I can get my ROI.

Background: I'm a computer engineer from Pune University, India. My aggregate score is 55%. I have work experience of 1 year as a digital marketing associate. I also have professional certificates from Google and Facebook in digital marketing/PPC ads.

Any guidance on which University would be in-line with my career goals would be highly appreciated.

Hi,

They are all good. Cranfield is a sort of specialist university, and it is also a post graduate only university; it is very well respected in industry and within the Higher Education sector.

You may want to consider their locations in your choice, as some of your list are city universities, whilst other are more rural (and campus based). Good luck with whichever one you decide on.

Hi,

They are all good. Cranfield is a sort of specialist university, and it is also a post graduate only university; it is very well respected in industry and within the Higher Education sector.

You may want to consider their locations in your choice, as some of your list are city universities, whilst other are more rural (and campus based). Good luck with whichever one you decide on.

Take a look at https://find-mba.com/board/general-forum/best-msc-mim-degrees-for-international-students-placement-52915 which might give you some clues. I don't know all these options well but you can do a lot of research with LinkedIn.

Hey Duncan, thanks for your reply. Before posting this question I had gone through the various discussions on this platform, your various posts, FT rankings (International mobility, employment, etc. ), and I also did research on LinkedIn. But even after this I still don't know which option is better. Thus, I'm reaching out. When you look at these programmes' alumni in LinkedIn, which seems to be the most successful at placing students in the UK?

Looking at the FT MiM ranking, Lancaster and Cranfield seem highest-rated for 'aims achieved, salaries and career services. Cranfield is highest for international mobility. From my personal knowledge, I think Lancaster will be better for B2C marketing and Cranfield better for B2B marketing. The European ranking has extra data for the Strathclyde MiM. It is above Leeds on salary but presumably slower to get get people into work.

In terms of placing students in the UK, both looked the same. Only a couple of students are working in the UK, rest all are back in their home country.

The other thing that I noticed was students from Cranfield who were placed in good companies were students who studied courses of defense/aviation/weapons which seems like Cranfield's specialty.

The other parameter I think will make a bit of difference is the 2yrs PSW which now is available and this was not available to the students from the previous years.

But all of the students with whom I spoke on LinkedIn said that the companies prefer the local candidates and its very hard for the non-British students and many of the companies don't even give you a chance of an interview upon seeing that you're an international students.

It sounds like you are not looking at alumni of those particular degree programmes, if you are finding people who have studied defence or aviation at Cranfield. Naturally, local candidates are preferred to foreign candidates in every country. I don't think that's specific to the UK. Ask a foreigner in your country about that :)

I looked at the alumni who studied the similar course which I want to study but the results weren't that good. Like I said in the previous answer only one or two students are still working in the UK. When I looked at the data of where the alumni are working, the good and big MNCs which are present in the list didn't have students from the marketing degrees (which I want to study). The alumni working in those MNCs were the students who studied defence or aviation degrees. 4% of UK digital marketing jobs are in large companies, with over 5,000 employees, and around 6% of MSc's working in digital marketing are at those large firms. Those are also the hardest firms to find work at, because the ratio of applicants to vacancies is so high. Perhaps some marketing MSc students are unsuccessful in their job hunts because they focus on those large firms?
