Why so? If you're over 30, but you've decided to change your life and apply to graduate school, you're about five years too late? Why such age discrimination?

These schools offer other programmes for older people, most obviously the MBA. The difference reflects the perceived needs of employers. However, you are right to call this age discrimination. I've also seen this as a PhD candidate when one of the most respected PhD competitions, hosted at St Gallen, is open only to people under 30: https://symposium.org/global-essay-competition/
