Do you have any idea on how good/successful the MEB program was ? Could the MBA be a decent alternative for students aiming for schools like EDHEC, Grenoble Ecole, WHU considering that ESCP has a better international reputation.
ESCP was 12th on the FT's best European schools 2016 list.

I remember that a few years ago, I had my eye on the MEB of ESCP Europe because of its one year/two countries appeal, but I finally decided not to apply because I was too old (the average age in the MEB used to 25 years-old), and I was afraid that this diploma would not be easy to 'sell' at an international ( = not European) level.

So what did you end up with at that time?

Well, two years ago, I contacted ESCP office several times, and they finally put me in touch with one of their alumni. Let's just say that this guy did not oversell the school - but he did not criticize it too much either. He thought that getting business skills from ESCP certainly helped him land his first job post-MEB - in South America, but he was clearly not raving about ESCP's brand.

Eventually, I decided not to apply because the pool of students was quite young whereas I really wanted to study with people with more work experience. That's why I am currently applying to several MBAs.

Regarding the ESCP brand, I am not well placed to give an objective opinion about it. Personally, I've noticed that In Asia, where I've been living these past 8 years, only HEC Paris, Essec, and INSEAD seemed to ring a bell with expatriates living here. Other French schools don't seem to be really known - but maybe recruiters at large companies know them?

This all sounds fair. ESCP is certainly well positioned to be on a par with EDHEC and WHU. However, the idea of being "on a European level" is a big glib: these are excellent schools but Europe has national labour markets with local language requirements and few schools have continent-wide brand recognition.
