With 68 percent employed three months after the programme, Essec is a risky choice. It has an exchange with Mannheim. Why not attend Mannheim and then take a term in exchange in Asia somewhere, ideally at a better school?

I, as a recent MBA graduate at ESSEC, don`t think that the ESSEC GMBA is a risky choice. Seeing the positions my classmates and I landed, especially in the kind of companies we are currently employed by (IBM, Amazon, Boeing, Accenture) has encouraged me in the decision that ESSEC was the right choice for us. Also, the possibility to experience four different countries and three different continents within one program was for me outstanding at ESSEC. What percentage of your classmates had jobs by the end of the programme? And what percentage of those on at the main campus in France who didn't speak French well?

Also, how do you respond to Duncan's comment that only 68 recent of ESSEC grads are employed three months after graduation?

Keeping in mind that for the most recent MBA classes surveyed for the FT ranking, the employability stats for HEC Paris and EMLyon were over 90%.

@Duncan: Sadly I cannot tell you the exact percentage but I would say around 3/4 of the students landed a job before graduation (same for the main campus).

@laurie: I think it’s not about finding a job right after graduation. Don’t you think it’s more about finding the right job. I had people in my badge turning down some offers because the package didn’t suit their expectations. Therefore, it took them maybe 1-2 months longer to have the right position in the desired industry with the desired salary.

So around three quarters does sound quite compatible with 68%, and that is not great. The median in the FT ranking is around 90%, I guess.
