I would think that for most students, an MBA that's accredited by AMBA, EQUIS, or AACSB would be a much better option. Maybe a program like the MBAs offered by WHU's, Mannheim Business School, or HHL?

If you specifically want to become an expert on the shipping business, then there are many accreditted and ranks business schools with Master of Science degrees in business: Cass and ALBA come to mind.

If you can't study in German or outside Hamburg then you have only one alternative: the Kühne Logistics University. HSBA is a part-time school, so don't expect careers services. Neither of these are internationally accredited schools, so don't expect much European recognition. KLU has an exchange programme with Erasmus University, so I would recommend that to soneone looking for a full-time programme.

Hi, I note there is an accreditation scheme popular in Germany, and perhaps Austria and Switzerland too, called FIBAA: Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation. But it never seems to be referred to in wider (English speaking) fora discussing accreditation. So hard to tell if it meets the same criteria as the schemes mentioned above, and certainly it may not have the same prestige. But might still give an indication of the quality of educational establishments in Germany.

FIBAA does not have similar requirements and it doesn't the same authority. The FT and CHE rankings are most useful in German, but remember that the CHE rankings typically compare German-language programmes.

FIBAA isn't referred to much here because receiving accreditation from FIBAA is much less robust and comprehensive than becoming accredited by one of the international agencies (AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB.)

FIBAA requires only one on-site visit and does not have any external evaluation protocols, where EQUIS for instance requires a peer review and various other external evaluations.
