Having a baby during MBA?

Hello,

I was recently accepted into a full-time MBA program in the US and looking forward to starting my studies in the fall.

I was wondering whether there are any women out there who had a baby during the MBA? My husband and I are both in the beginnings of our 30's and would not like to postpone starting a family until 2-3 years - so somehow that collides a bit with my MBA plans. From what I read, most women have a baby during the second year of the studies, since you might have already secured an offer during the summer internship. All accounts I read reported that the first year is the most stressful in terms of events, networking, coursework.

Any advice or personal insights?

I'm not a woman and have not had a baby, but: I would think that having a baby while going to school might actually be easier than while in the workplace. At least then you wouldn't have to take time off from work, with all the direct and indirect penalties that that can inflict.

That said, I'd also imagine that it would be difficult but not undoable; you'd just have to be very focused in terms of how you manage your time.
