Hi LIfe, I am living in London - more or less, zone 6, in West Ruislip.... I do not think there is any economic accomodation close to SOAS... try something a bit out of the way, public transport is quite okay. Obviously, it all depends on how much you are prepared to spend! What is your budget?

well, wouldnt be a problem if it is slightly away from the main area as long as it can give a good margin in terms of money saving........ i m not sure how much i should be planning for , but considering londons cost, i assume it cannot be less than 500 pounds........please advise me on that......
what would be the best deal for a single room ...not too distant from the institution? ........considering public transportation and other facilities....

You are right, you always have to consider the cost for transport, but I guess you will always be better off living a bit outside of the centre, and 500 pounds per month will definitely get you a nice room in a shared flat and a tube ticket (you might even get along with around 400). However, you need to be sure that you are willing to put up with the travelling! I takes me about an hour to get to work in the morning....
