I need a quick & cheap online executive MBA - accredited but quality doesn't matter

Hi,

I'm a senior manager in the financial sector with 30 years of experience. I've done many executive level courses including a mini MBA but not a proper and accredited MBA.

I have a safe and secure job but for a promotion opportunity I just need an MBA quickly for a box ticking exercise. Nobody will care where it is from and I don't care about its quality (easier the better) but I need to complete it as quickly as possible (max 12 months). As long as it's 'legit', the rest is unimportant.

Can anybody recommend any options for me?

As they say: Quick, cheap or good: you can pick two. The question you should answer is how legitimate do you want the degree to be? Would a diploma mill work? Do you want a university known in your own country?

It's a shame the Maryland University Core MBA course on EdX is no longer running. That might have been good enough for a box ticking exercise with your HR department and was only $2000.

What about doing one of the short 2-3 month online 'MBA Essentials' courses that are springing up from the likes of LSE, Columbia or Imperial? At least they are reputable institutions and you won't be spending too much time or money to get a piece of paper.

To be honest, your employer doesn't sound like the kind of organisation I would want to work for if the MBA quality and school is so meaningless. I'd rather go work somewhere else.

Obviously, the right answer here is: don't get a shit MBA. Put in the time to get a degree that's at least of minimum quality like Amity or the UoP.
