Hi All,

I see that the IE IMBA has not been ranked by FT this year, i.e. 2018.
The posts on the below link are particularly worrisome-

Does this impact career services at IE?
Is IE only good at marketing and netting students? Does the IMBA have any credibility at all?

The comments on that post are really insightful. IE has good outcomes because of the cheeky, self-promoting, performance of being a top school. The comparison with Hult is very fair, although Hult is now nonprofit (unlike IE). The culture attracts people who are great in business development and entrepreneurship. But for compliance in an investment bank.... Well, it's not a school for introverts. Indeed, this will be a blip because the schools president is right that it's applicants often don't consider other programs in the same way.

I have applied to HEC and plan to apply to EDHEC.
Given that I can converse in French but have no exposure to Spanish, is it safe to stick to EDHEC and not consider IE?
Also, does ESCP compare well with EDHEC?

This depends a lot on your goals. IE is still a better school for people aiming at the roles, regions and outcomes that IE students end up with. The ESCP programme has only been an MBA for a little while and the cohort is younger than EDHEC. ESSEC is a better option. If your French isn't great then, if you want to work in France, take a semester full time to improve your French and then study in French not English.

This depends a lot on your goals. IE is still a better school for people aiming at the roles, regions and outcomes that IE students end up with. The ESCP programme has only been an MBA for a little while and the cohort is younger than EDHEC. ESSEC is a better option. If your French isn't great then, if you want to work in France, take a semester full time to improve your French and then study in French not English.

Look on LinkedIn. It's not the industry, but the psychographic segment that makes people choose IE.

The most recent careers report says that 25% went into the technology industry, and 19% into consulting. These plus financial services are the top three industries for MBAs... Salaries are decent but less than for grads of MBAs at say LBS or Insead.
