IE vs Frankfurt School of Finance and Management

Hi everyone,

I have been accepted to IE Business School with a partial scholarship and Frankfurt School of Finance and Management for their Master in Management programs.

Ideally, I would like to stay back in Europe for some time to work in a consumer goods company, preferably in a marketing functionality, before coming back home. However, I do not speak neither Spanish nor German, but I would definitely like to learn them. Spain only provides me with a 1 year post study job search visa while Germany provides me with a 18 month post study work visa.

While IE's program is 10 months, Frankfurt's is 24 months, which provides me with time to weather out the economic fallout due to the pandemic. However, IE seems to posses a better recognized brand name in Europe than Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Does anyone have any additional information about Frankfurt school of finance and management.

Any additional insights that might help me arrive at a decision is much appreciated.

Most of my decisions so far has been based on information in ftrankings. However, one concern of mine is that while IE Master in Management has been highly rated in ftrankings for more than a decade now, Frankfurt's program was first mentioned only in 2017. Should I be concerned about this or can I ignore it while arriving at a decision?

I wouldn't be so concerned about the history of the rankings, but rather more where the schools are ranked today. There are a variety of macroeconomic factors that led up to these rankings shift, plus the fact that higher education, especially in English, has changed a lot in Germany over the past decade.

Indeed, Frankfurt is rather new in the English-speaking rankings because for most of its life it has taught only in English. Its MSc ranked in the FT more or less as soon as it had been established long enough.
