Is an MBA now worth it? Should I apply?

I have recently been laid off due to the effects of coronavirus. This was bad timing but hey when would it be good timing, right?

I am exploring the idea of doing an MBA. I graduated from university in 2015 with a 3.7 GPA. I have about 4.5 years of work experience in consulting (front office, not a big firm). I would get a good letter of recommendation.

I guess I am not really sure what to do now. I have started looking for other jobs but I guess hiring has slowed down, hence the idea of an MBA.

Does anybody have any advice? Should I apply now? If I was to go back to school I would prefer an MBA over another type of degree. I would stick to schools in the US.

It's a great time do an MBA because the opportunity cost is lowest now.

I'd also say... I expect currently-open rounds to be undersubscribed and later rounds to be over-subscribed at top schools, so there's a big advantage to applying now.

From the limited information you've provided, it does seem like you fit the profile for doing an MBA. Have you taken the GMAT?

I have taken the GMAT and scored 720. I am working on applications for Duke, UCLA, and Purdue. Are there other schools that you suggest?

What do you want to do after your MBA? I would suggest you to apply at higher ranked schools than Purdue unless that's your safety.
