LSE GMIM vs LBS MAM

Hi all

I've received offers for LSE GMIM and LBS Master in Analytics and Management. I got a CS undergrad in the US so a lot of the content of the LBS MAM I already know (Python and R). I really like LSE as a school and was inclined to choose it but everywhere I've looked the consensus is that LBS is the better option. Would I be a complete disadvantage if I choose LSE over LBS? What option should I go with? I feel like I also have an academic orientation and would consider doing a phD in the far future.

Thanks in advance!

LBS better at the master level. LSE is way more academic though so if you are interested to do a phD in the short term could be a better option. If it is long term pick LBS would be better career wise ;)

how would you compare their reputations? I feel like I always hear about LSE and never LBS even though it is such a good school.

First of all, congratulations !

Although I am not an expert in this field, LSE teaching is somehow autonomous, and  since LSE has both UG and PG courses consisting of various social  science disciplines, it's clearly well known/popular. LBS only has PG and business-related subjects, so there are few people who haven't heard of it that much before. In summary, you can check LBS's ranking at FT Rankings and LinkedIn to have a look at where its alumni are.

In my opinion, I don't think you should spend around GBP 70k for a MIM, but ~GBP 45k at LBS. You can save up some of what is left after admitting to LBS and take an MBA in the future if you want :)
