Masters in Management Vs MBA

Hi All,

I have close to 6 years of experience in high tech domain (not managerial) and planning for a change in the career by doing a Management Program from overseas.Can any body share me about your views on doing a Masters in Management from a good business school & an MBA from a normal business school .

Is GMAT necessary for both Masters in Management program?

Considering that there are tens of thousands of business schools, a normal business school is unaccredited, has no placement services and offers no real advantages over joining a good library.

Think about your goals.

An MBA or specialist masters will be better from good school is best, but the quality of the school is key.

Depends on what you mean by "normal" and "good" in terms of business schools. If you're considering a ranked master in management program: something like UBC Sauder, Lancaster, Sydney, etc., this will probably be better for you than an unaccredited and unranked MBA.

However, with 6 years of experience, you're really in the right place for an MBA, versus a program that might be aimed at early-career professionals or those just out of undergrad.
