MBA - Change of Career

Hi I am a filmmaker who also has a lot of experience in dealing with the business side of running a production house as well.

I usually make ad films and documentaries. I also run PR campaigns for various causes/businesses.

I want to get an IOMBA. I feel I can uses the skills I have to work for a NGO's, International organisation in their public information wing, or work in consulting.

To get a better perspective of life, I am looking for a career change and this course has interested me a quite a bit. Do you think its possible for me to get admitted?
I have given my GMAT and got a score of 650..what do you think i should aim for next time?

Will someone like me be at a disadvantage (owing to lack of traditional work experience), when applying, what do you think I should do to improve my standing.

Are you specifically talking about the Geneva program, or others in this space as well? What about location - are you looking just at Europe?

These are good lists to start with, although certainly your options could be wider:

You might also consider a program like Copenhagen's MBA, which will significantly expand your career options after graduation. I'm not sure that NGOs, etc., when looking for managers, necessarily need focused MBAs. A general MBA from a ranked school might take you further.

Well I was looking for schools in Europe or Asia. Mainly because the cost is much lower when compared to the US.

The IOMBA was what I had in mind when I posted this and I am aiming for the College.

Do you have any suggestion regarding applying to this course.

I would ask them for a career report. I'm actually a bit skeptical that they don't make this public already. If what Razors Edge says is true, that NGOs etc. don't look for specialized MBAs, then this will be evident from the report.
