I am a line manager in a fast moving consumer goods company in India. I have been working in this firm for 4 years and I believe it is time to do an MBA to get me to the next level.

I am having a hard time deciding which schools to select. I know that a PGP from a top school like IIM-A would be better for job opportunities in India. However, I have also read that many companies here like to recruit students who did their MBA in the U.S or somewhere in Europe.

I know that there are some good U.S. business schools with specializations in retail, Purdue and Carlson have come up in my research, but I am not sure that these are good for my particular career path in FMCG.

Does anybody have any advice for me?

Good luck using Linkedin for this kind of research on India, from my usage I have never found clear trends for any MBA programs.

Instead, track down the companies you would want to work for (even in your own firm, if that's your goal,) and see where the management did their degrees. Also look at the recruiting partners for business schools you're interested in and see if there's anything that lines up.
