MBa. in Strategic planning

Good day folks, I've been doing some research over the past few weeks trying to find a good Mba program specializing in Strategic Planning / Management. I'm interested primarily in English programs in the U.K, Holland, or the US. I have an MSc. from University Twente in Holland and 10yrs top management experience. Any suggestions? Also, are there any good schools without GMAT requirements? A one year course would be ideal.

You won't find a good MBA in strategy without GMAT. Strategy work is tightly concentrated globally in four of five consulting firms that recruit from the top business schools (principally Chicago, Columbia, Harvard, INSEAD, LBS, MIT, Northwestern, Wharton). These are even the main sources for those consultants in The Netherlands, even if many have studied at TU Delft, RSM or Leiden for their MSc/Drs)

Generally there are few courses in strategic *planning*: that concept more or less died in the 1990s (search for "death of strategic planning" + Mintzberg). But there are many programmes in strategy which you search for at: http://www.find-mba.com/search

For MBAs without the GMAT, search the discussion board for "No GMAT"

Thanks Duncan, I will definitely do some more research. My major problem with the GMAT is that because there are no centers where I live that are able to administer the exam, a logistical problem exists. (I live in the Caribbean).

For Distance Learning option, "Edinburgh Business School" aka Heriot Watt University in Scotland do am MSc in Strategic Planning, with nine units assessed by exam, but as Duncan says the process of Strategic Planning is pretty old hat now (though I'm not too impressed with Mintzberg's Emergent strategy either)

You've seen the Durham Global MBA has a Caribbean stream? No GMAT required, I think.

Where exactly are you? As far as I know, there are test centers in the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo), Jamaica (Kingston), Puerto Rico (San Juan), and the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas.)
