Hello all,
Apologies in advance as this topic will contain several questions on various topics. However, this reflects pretty accurately where I'm at at the moment :) Your help is much appreciated !
I am 32 years old, have around 9 to 10 years of professional experience and am working as a Production Manager (Division Manager) for a big mobile video game company.
I have been working there for the past 6.5 years and am looking for a change : not necessarily a complete switch in my career, but simply a way to learn new things, keep up to date with the latest trends in the entertainment industry, be able to expand my knowledge and skills before finding a new job. In short : boost my career in a significant way.
I already have an MBA from one of the top business schools in France. Majored in Finance, minored in Marketing. And yes, I know, I am doing producing video games now :)
That's what I have always liked, and keep liking. I am also VERY interested in the movie industry so possibly, that's something I want to explore as well (and maybe switch in too)
Wondering what the future will have in store, I started looking at some prestigious programs like the EMT from NYU, some specialized Master at Digipen. Right now, I am still not sure if I want to get towards a more ENGINEERING path (to 'complete' my BUSINESS path) or go for a more ENTERTAINMENT specialized diploma, that will open doors in other branches of that industry (TV, movie, music..possibly keeping in line with a Production job).
So here are some questions :
-Given my background, would u recommend a MBA or EMBA ?
-It looks like Full Time MBA are actually 2 to 3 years, i.e. back as a student. Is it possible to find 'Part-Time MBA' or 'Full Time EMBA' ?
-NYU Stern : not sure I understood their website fully, but I could not find explicit info about their EMT program as EMBA. Any idea ?
-Apart from NYU, what are the other top EMT programs in the USA ? I found something like UCLA Anderson...but is that the 'real' UCLA or just a name playing on the UCLA fame :) ? Any other suggestion is welcome of course.
-Do you know of any MBA or EMBA program similar to what Digipen offers ? Again, based on all that is mentioned above.
Thanks to you all for reading until here, and let me know if you have any further questions !
