MBA or MSc in Finance / Master in Finance

I would like to know which is the best option - to take a one year MBA in the UK or to do a MSc in Finance / Master in Finance.

I am interested in working in finance. But I already have 5 years of work experience and I think that's too much for most Master in Finance programs.

But I am worried that an MBA won't be specific enough. Are there any good one year MBAs that focus on finance?

Not in the UK. Aim for the London or Cambridge finance programs.

To elaborate, many MBAs in the UK won't include a traditional specialization or concentration, since they're only one year long and don't have much time for going deep.

It's true that many MiF programs are looking for students with less work experience. However, the ones Duncan mentioned actually do recruit those with more experience, like you.

Thanks. So what you both are saying is that based on my career goals an MBA probably wouldn't be the best choice. I'll look into those finance programs for people with more work experience.

LBS and Manchester are longer, so those are MBA options to consider. Cranfield used to all two terms of finance at the end...
