MS Luxury or Aviation?

Hello all,

I am stuck in a big dilemma and confusion over my childhood passion (aviation) and new found potential career in retail, mostly luxury retail.

I had planned for aviation after high school, but backed out then when the industry went down and pursued management studies for bachelors. However on completion and going ahead for post grad i still feel drawn to the aviation industry, but still hear of difficulty in getting jobs. My other option based on my undergrad specialization is Luxury Retail. SO wondering which way to go now. ?

I am confused weather i should go for a Msc Aviation Mnagement or MSc Luxury Brand Management? I am confused which would offer better employment opportunities in the current scenario, but currently looks like both have issues regarding employment opportunities.

I have looked up institutes for both, and have found very few for Aviation- choices being between Cranfield & Embry- Riddle.

In luxury- IUM, Essec , Emlyon n many more.

SO which would be a wiser choice to get into ?

I am a student of Management with marketing and retail specialization in undergrad, and was a science student till high school. Please help!

Aviation. Getting jobs in luxury is also hard but salaries are much lower

Yes. Even i came to that conclusion now. But, however, I am wondering if i should go for a specialized Masters in Aviation or regular management program and top it up with some certificate/ diploma from maybe IATA or other institute.
I am from India and don't see much scope here in jobs. Looking more towards the gulf. I have shortlisted a few for masters/MBA :

UK-
Cranfield
Coventry

US-
Embry-Riddle
Purdue
and tons more..

Just cant make up my mind. I find Coventry ranking really low. But they seem to have an affiliation with Emirates.

I have 2 year work ex. of which one year was in the Banking sector and one year (and still currently) with Family Business.

Is there any other location I could look at apart from these two countries? And also where my chances of securing an employment is higher.

You can see on LinkedIn that Coventry has not been placing notable numbers of people into Emirates.

Given that you are looking around at different markets and industries, a traditional two-year MBA seems to suit you. Why not do the Purdue MBA?

Check out LinkedIn to see what kinds of MBAs managers in those sectors have.

Also, I'd look at job boards: you can get a sense of what jobs are out there, where they are, and what they require.

As Duncan mentioned earlier, luxury management can be a tough field to crack, but many luxury brands are looking for people in emerging markets to try and open stores and pave pathways for sales in their home countries.

An MBA from a European country with strong ties in the industry is usually preferable if you're looking at this route: Essec, HEC, IU Monaco, etc.

There are not many MBA programs with a specialization in Aviation, you can easily sift through the few results yourself:
