MSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Manchester vs Warwick (WMG) vs Cranfield

Hello,

I would be an International Student (for UK) starting my Masters program in 2021.

I am confused between the following,

1. Alliance Manchester Business School (Result Awaited)
MSc Operations, Project and Supply Chain Management

2. WMG. The University of Warwick (Recieved Admit)

3. Cranfield School of Management (Recieved Admit)
Logistics and Supply Chain Management MSc

Main focus would be the job opportunities post graduation. Would use the PSW to my advantage.

Search the board for the many discussions about the WMG. This is not a good fit for your goals.

Manchester and Cranfield are stronger options and have the resources of a business school [unlike WMG]. The QS ranking for SCM MSc options shows that Cranfield has slightly better employment outcomes 74.4/73.7. SCM is a central field for Cranfield, unlike Manchester. The course design is visibly more extensive, up-to-date and flexible. The cohort of SCM students is largest and, in terms of the UK students, I think this will be the top UK SCM programme chosen by the most full-time UK students.

However, the difference in setting will matter. Cranfield is in the belt around the M1 motorway between London and the North where so many manufacturing and distribution hubs are centred. It's a rural campus where students will tend to stay and make the most of the university experience. Manchester is a city centre campaign in the middle of huge post-industrial
conurbation where digital and creative, financial, legal and business services, sports and higher education activities are booming. AMBS students have lots of other things to experience, and the course design is better for students who want less time on campus.

In my opinion, Cranfield is the best school in the UK for supply chain management. A colleague of mine from my supply chain consulting days set up the Cranfield MSc way back in 1980 and it's been a top choice in the decades since. The course has a better set of interesting and specialised electives compared to Manchester too.

Manchester doesn't have a better name in UK business than Cranfield, especially outside the services industry. Cranfield only does post-grad and then only in engineering, manufacturing, defence tech, aviation and management. It's a premium niche player.

If you search LinkedIn then you will see that more Supply Chain Directors in the UK come from Cranfield than Manchester. I've come across many people in the supply chain world who have degrees from Cranfield, it's a better choice career wise I feel. Also, if you look at the Manchester course, it is quite weighted towards project management which may or may not be what you are looking for.

If you search LinkedIn then you will see that more Supply Chain Directors in the UK come from Cranfield than Manchester. I've come across many people in the supply chain world who have degrees from Cranfield, it's a better choice career wise I feel. Also, if you look at the Manchester course, it is quite weighted towards project management which may or may not be what you are looking for.
