Hi All,
Warm greetings..
I am presently in London. I am interested in pursuing an MBA in Retail Management. My interest lies in cafe, supermarkets , accessories, apparels etc.. industry.
1. Scope of retail industry in india as well as worldwide.
2. Can anyone suggest a good business school in london offering the retail MBA, I am somehow not able to find the course specialisation in retail, they are either general MBA or supply management or fashion..
3. I am looking at full time MBA. Should i go for a one year course or two year course.
Awaiting response..
Thanks in advance.

I don't think any of the ranked MBAs in London have such a concentration. Oxford has an eight weeke lective in retailing:

Kingston is a real university, but that's not an MBA. Personally I would choose it over an MBA from a small, new private college with no reputation like Kensington or Rayat. Why take a specialised MBA at all? The world's top MBA programmes do not have specialisations. You can take courses in marketing, logistics and other areas...

I share Duncan's view that good MBAs focus on developing their students as capable all-round managers; as such, they do not confine themselves to a specific industry sector, such as retail. Indeed, it could be argued that the best way to get promoted beyond an operational level in any industry, retail included, is to do an MBA and thereby to gain general business skills. After all, the CEO of, say, a supermarket chain is not primarily concerned with how the stores are managed.

I just looked on LinkedIn to see which schools are the alma matas of the most MBAs in retail. The scores are:
# Fundação Getulio Vargas (1135)
# University of Phoenix (910)
# University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management (529)
# Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management (425)
# Harvard Business School (390)
# University of Pennsylvania - The Wharton School (283)
# University of Mumbai (258)
# University of Pune (219)
# The University of Chicago - Booth School of Business (217)
# Delhi University (212)
# New York University - Leonard N. Stern School of Business (204)
That's a mixed bag, but most of them do not have specialist MBAs in retail. if you narrow the filter to look only at the US, UK and Canada then the results are:
# University of Phoenix (885)
# University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management (522)
# Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management (370)
# Harvard Business School (292)
# University of Pennsylvania - The Wharton School (243)
# University of Saint Thomas - School of Business (207)
# New York University - Leonard N. Stern School of Business (195)
# Penn State University (194)
# The University of Chicago - Booth School of Business (192)
# University of Michigan (188)
# Brigham Young University (186)
I don't think any of those have specialist tracks in retail.
