UAB/ EAE - Important please

Hi Everybody,

I am close to making a decision and i will appreciate your help. I have a very strong background with a few years business experience and i want to study in Barcelona. Now the situation is the following:

UAB, which is public university but also top university in Spain which is internationally recognised offers a program which is Master in Executive Business Mamangement, which almost 1 to 1 syllubus to typical MBA prgram from business school. I have been accepted to the program and i think it is a good choice because of the school recognition in Spain.

Then, the other option i got is the MBA in EAE but even EAE is a business school, i dont get the feeling it is well respected or recognised and in this sense, even the program is interesting, isn't better to go ahead with UAB which is more popular university in Spain with reputation or should i got for the MBA in EAE. I would really appreciate your opinion and please lets just focus on those two choices as those are the one which i can afford and have time for now to start in October, i know the whole vibe around esade, ie, isec etc but they are not the one which i can afford.

Please let me know what you think UAB or EAE in this case will bring me better opportunities and recognition on spanish or international market.

I think you have to focus on your goals and compare the programmes, not just the schools. As business schools, these are both three-palm schools (http://www.eduniversal-ranking.com/business-school-university-ranking-in-spain.html). As a private schools EAE will have better facilities and better support. It's probably better known on the business school scene.

My question is exactly around public vs business school difference. Which is more highly valued and appreciated by employers lets say. I always assume that top public school will head the charts but that said, maybe its the opposite sometimes.

I don't understand why you would think that. Spain's top business schools are all private: ESADE, IE and IESE. That is also the case in Italy, Germany, France, the USA etc: the state universities are, generally, less well funded and the best students, employers and teachers go elsewhere.
