Woman and MBA

Hey all,

Just read this(old) interesting article about woman and MBA - it seems there was an increase in the Nr of woman taking MBAs in the USA in 2006.

It made me wonder, and i would like to ask it here - how many woman are taking MBAs at you're b school, or any other economics related faculty - is it really better now, or is it still mainly a mans faculty?

i would really like to hear what you all think know about it - it could help me decide about my future education.

This is a really good question. We all know from experience that MBA programmes tend to be male dominated, and that's backed up by statistics from all over. What would be really interesting is to find out how female MBAers feel this affects them in practice. Is it just a reflection of corporate cultures more generally? Do women feel they bring some different to an MBA programme? Are there more opportunites for women to succeed afterwards because they are in a minority? Is there still such a thing as a glass ceiling, and how far down does it extend?

It stats that about 30 pro cent of the MBA students are woman - and also gives lots of other interesting info's. i think it is a shame that this field is still so male dominated, and that the schools don't push the woman nr, - i think more woman would mean a fresh new way of thinking in the B world.
