Hi everyone. I urgently need an advice.





I took GMAT today and I got 680, IR 2. AWA I don't know yet.


I want to apply for MBA in these universities (in order of my priorities)





Memorial University of Newfoundland - Canada


University of South Florida


Polytechnic Milan





I have 10 years of work experience. I also obtained an IELTS 8





Do you think I should take GMAT again or 680 is good enough and I have a good chance to get the admission from one of these universities?

Hi, it is enough for the schools you applied. Just wondering how you got a 2 in IR despite your quite decent score. 
Apart from that, you should be fine (considering that IR is the thing they look last in your GMAT score).

Your GMAT is way above average for those schools.  You are a shoo-in at those schools.  Why not apply to better programs?  If cost is a concern, HEC Montreal offers international tuition scholarships that bring down tuition to Quebec levels (will cost you less than 10K), so it won't  be any different from Memorial's tuition.  Another program that gives huge scholarships (almost full tuition) at that GMAT level is Ryerson.  Ryerson and HEC Montreal are located in cities where you will have better odds of finding work.  Memorial is a good school but is located in the middle of nowhere -  you will have to move to another city after you're done. 

Tbh after all the years being away from academia, I have lost all my confidence in getting a fund or any financial aid. But now that you said I might be able to get that, I will definitely check and might give it a try. Thanks a million

I had the same mindset in the past and when I got a high GMAT decided to give the better schools a shot.  Basically, schools have an incentive to give scholarships to applicants whose GMAT are well above their average.  Why? To raise their average score and do better in rankings.  In your case, you have a good shot at substantial (70% to 100%) scholarships at schools with GMAT averages around 600-630.   You should also try University of Florida.  It offers almost all admitted students a 100% tuition scholarship.

If I may Nastaran, your GMAT is good. You are free to do it again but keep the score because with such a score, you can aim for McGill or HEC Montreal (and easily get in). Good luck :)
