Hi, hope everyone is safe and doing well.
I am a Mechanical Engineer, I had graduated back in 2013, then I did job in Oil and Energy PSU in India (BPCL) for 4 years 5 months from June'2013 to Nov'2017. There I have handled profiles like every kind of day to day plant process operations, then spent a significant time in Purchasing, material procurement in SAP, vendor management, inventory planning, E-Tendering activities, load planning for LPG distributors as per PDP planning, bulk and packed LPG invoicing, Operations and Finance Audit (both physically and in SAP)
After that I was moved into LPG sales, At that time I left the job after serving 5 months in sales. To be honest I did not like the nature of this job . It is not that I do not like sales/marketing jobs but that LPG sales role did not provide me the opportunity to use my intelligence and strategy. Moreover it was only a follow up kind of jobs.
Then I took a gap for one year during 2018 to prepare for GATE exam in India to pursue masters in Mechanical Engineering. My thinking at that point to shift into a job in which I can use my full potential and at the same time I can learn a lot and my personal development.
But at this point of time the opportunities at core mechanical field have decreased, Covid situation has added more stress on this.
I am planning to start preparing for GMAT as I am having 4.5 years of work experience and most of the time I have handled profiles like Purchasing, material procurement, vendor management, inventory planning, E-Tendering activities, load planning for LPG distributors as per PDP planning, bulk and packed LPG invoicing. Operation and finance audit physically and in SAP .
I am targeting the MBA colleges within India only. and I am looking up to build my profile in business analyst, operations management, supply chain management etc
I am in the 2nd year of my masters at present with a one year gap in my career. My academics details are as below
Secondary level: 90.12%
Higher secondary: 85.6
Graduate in Mechanical Engineering: 77.78%
Post graduate CGPA till now: 82.8%
My extracurricular involves mainly Singing, Travelling, Photography, Social works among friends etc.
Can somebody please suggest me should I prepare for GMAT considering my academic profile, one year break ,overall journey till now?
