It depends on where you want to go to school and your career goals. If you want to stay in Singapore maybe check out Nanyang or SMU. If you are looking at other regions, you might be a good fit at SMU Cox in the US, maybe a harder sell at SDA Bocconi in Italy and Schulich or Queen's in Canada.

The single best thing you can do would probably be to get your GMAT score up to 700ish. That would make you more competitive at higher ranked schools like Tepper, Cornell, Cranfield, etc. Usually higher ranked business schools have better return on investment.

Hey, I also got 660 on the GMAT. You mentioned Singapore schools like Nanyang and SMU - how are these in comparison to NUS? I will probably apply to all three but wanted to get an idea of how they compare. I want to go into finance.

If you can get into NUS or Nanyang, I wouldn't consider SMU, since its MBA program isn't ranked. Both NUS and Nanyang place well into financial services, but NUS probably has the edge in terms of average salaries.

However, the average GMAT at NUS is a bit above your score, this could be an issue depending on the other parts of your profile (work experience, undergraduate GPA, etc.)

Hey, just seeing this now. Thanks for the input. I think at this point I will not apply to SMU but instead to INSEAD, as I understand that this is also a good school for Singapore finance placements. Just need to work on my GMAT prep and have back at it.

Good luck, INSEAD is a great school. However, it's more geared towards careers in consulting, generally speaking, and I think that NUS generally places more of its people in finance.

I've just talked to an INSEAD grad who works in financial services in Singapore and he told me basically just that. Although he said that his firm in particular had a good relationship with INSEAD, so I suppose that it depends which companies you're looking at...

But I still plan on applying to NUS and Nanyang as well for fall 2016... since I have some time I plan on doing the GMAT again just to increase my odds. Thanks for all the advice.
