I was under the impression that almost every MBA program requires the results of your GMAT exam as part of the application. If this is not true, I would also like to find out what these schools are.

Out of curiosity, why would you like to apply to programs before taking the GMAT?

Thanks for the reply. I have found that you can apply to most of the schools before taking the GMAT. For eg, TiasNimbas, Solvay,EDHEC,Most business schools in UK etc...If accepted, they will give you a conditional offer and upon submission of your GMAT scores, they will provide you with unconditional offer.

I was asking for this because, the earliest I can take my GMAT is May and I might be late for applying to many B-schools because of this. So just wanted to know if I can apply first and produce the GMAT at a later stage.

This is good to know. If there are particular UK b-schools you would like to apply to, I would simply explain your situation and ask them what they're policy is on submitting GMAT scores after the application.

That is a little bit odd. A GMAT score is a factor in the school admission process. I would doubt that a school would not care what the score was. Why would they admit someone to the program who has no score (and later would submit low 600s) than the have someone who has already taken a test and has 720? You might not get admitted to any schools because of the lack of the result. But perhaps now you can tell us how it went?

From a personal experience I would recommend applying as soon as possible. Applying at the last minute really minimizes the chances of getting in. The schools become very picky at the end.

I have been applying to schools in Germany, I have been struggled with the GMAT as well. I hope my experience can help. GMAT seems a very important criteria to the admission process. Of coz if you got an extremely outstanding background, it will not be weighed as heavy. But the GMAT score helped them to differenitate you in different grades, see whether you are passionate about the program. I would suggest you to do it as early as possible, coz you got 5 times per year, and each month you can do once. Good luck

If I can give a suggestion, do not take the GMAT more than once, maximum twice.

It's not seen as the kind of exam that you want to try every other month and get a score by chance. Moreover, Adcoms can see the whole history of your results.

I suggest to prepare, keep calm and do it once. If your score is higher than 600, you already have great chances to be admitted virtually in any MBA, if you carefully work on your application strategy as well.
