GMAT Tiers - strong schools for your GMAT

Hi Duncan;
I need your guidance in selecting schools. I gave GMAT on 18-Dec-13 and scored 630 (Q-48, V-29, AWA-4.5 and IR-6).
I am 36 year old engineering professional with 10+ years experience Power / Energy sector in varied profiles such as Power Plant Operation, Project Site Execution, Project Management, Energy Management, Engineering Management and Project Engineering.
I have done full time Post Graduation in Thermal Power Plant Engineering. My GPA is 3.6 and have many professional recognition certificates. I am also in partnership with NGOs such as World Vision (India) for last 8 years, HelpAge India for over 8 years, UNICEF - Guardian of Hope for last one year and Art of Living. I am very much active in extra curricular activities too.
I am interested in 1 year full time MBA to achieve professional goal in Strategy and Buisness Development segment. My international experience is almost nil, but I want to pursue MBA to have international mobility especially in Europe, Singapore or Australia.
I am not looking for scholarship but I wish to limit the course fee within 40000 UK Pounds.

I am thankful to your response, infact this is first response I got from any one on several queries I raised in various platform.
Yes, I did read your first post and almost all the subsequent posts too. My doubt is with my score, profile and expectation, which school tier should be the target.
I did some research and selected some schools such as Warwick, Cranefield, Manchester, Rotterdam, NUS and Nanyang. I have a strong desire to do MBA from Warwick because they have concentration on Energy, but their website informs on min score of 650.
I am bit confused and need suggestion on way forward. I don't intend to give GMAT again.

Your GMAT is under 650. Isn't it obvious that you should target the tier under 650? You stand no chance at Warwick.

Hi Duncan. I have a GMAT score of 600, TOEFL iBT of 103 and 8 Years of work experience in Development Banking now. We have discussed in past and you had suggested me certain schools like Manchester Business School and Thunderbird. I received admission but couldn't go due to certain financial issues. However, I plan to move to UK for one year MBA and have a budget of GBP18000+/-2000 for school fee (will manage living from own sources). Would expect some scholarship. After MBA I wish to go to investment banking or consulting and work in UK (my wife is employed in London). Can you suggest some B schools for this requirement. I have contacted Univ. of Southampton and they have offered me a scholarship of GBP4000 on fee. On the other hand, Cass Business School has asked me to apply (no promise of admission or scholarship). Value for money approach and less weightage to GMAT shall be desirable.

Value for money really suggest that you should get into the very best school you can, regardless of cost, because the extra income from a better schools is so much greater than the difference in fees. Use the FT ranking and stretch your budget.

Academics - BA (hons) in Economics, secured 58%
PGDBA from a tier 2 institute in India with 2.66 CGPA.
Total WE - 11 yrs
Currently working as Regional Portfolio Head for SME with a multinational Bank in India.
Brief overview -
May 2010 - till date: with a multinational bank, Senior Manager
Nov 2006-Sep 2009: ICICI Bank as Cluster Manager
Aug 2003 - Oct 2006: Nestle India Ltd as Sales officer.
I am planning to start my MBA from April/May 2015, I can spend USD 35K from my own fund. Rest needs to be arranged through loans.
I have couple of questions to you:
1. Should I go for an MBA?
2. And if answer to the 1st question is yes, then from which country?

I don't think I've offered any insight at all. I'm just asking questions to help you answer your question. Anyone could look at the rankings and work out what is the highest-ranked school that fits your budget, but the choice should really start with the goal in mind: what work do you enjoy, and would you want to devote your life to? If you just want to learn and to meet people, there are some much cheaper ways to do that. The LSE's diploma for graduates in management has much of the content of an MBA, for example.
