Banking to IB via MBA?

I have a few years of experience in banking but in a non-managerial position. I feel a bit stuck and I've been considering an MBA in order to move into Investment Banking and widen my future and opportunities. Would an MBA help me move into IB when my experience in banking is so limited? Will most employers rather look at my experience than an MBA degree?

As a side note, any especially good schools you'd recommend for this in the UK/Ireland?

A full-time MBA from a target school is a highly viable path into IB. LBS, INSEAD and Oxbridge are the top MBAs for UK IB, while in Ireland MSc and CFA or accounting qualifications are more typical. UCD and TCD are the top options there.
