Henley Business School vs. Nottingham University

Good Day, I would like to know your views on which may be a better school for a FT- MBA. I've already got acceptance letters from both universities and I would really appreciate your thoughts on this.

Note that as much as I want to consider other higher-ranked universities, I am financially constrained and I was not able to obtain a competitive GMAT score. However due to my strong professional experience and good academic background, my GMAT score did not matter as much especially for Henley.

I come from a finance background and I am currently working for one of the big 4 auditing firms in a Southeast Asian country. I have around four years of work experience including managerial experience.

After obtaining my MBA, I am looking into joining a company in the retail or travel industry, but still mainly dealing on the finance aspect.

I don't have much information on Henley regarding their curriculum, other than what could be found in their school website. On the contrary, I have a much detailed MBA brochure from the University of Nottingham. Given the limited information that I have, the MBA program of Nottingham seems to have a better curriculum.

Hope you could help shed some light on my dilemma and give some opinion if you agree with my initial assessment.

Aside from considering the alumni network, would there be any other helpful information in deciding which has a stronger MBA program between the two schools?

Of course that post isn;t really about the alumni network, but about how well those schools are at preparing students for careers like the one you are looking at.

Outcomes are the clear measures to look at. Since both Henley and Nottingham are similar accreditations, it's rather unlikely that their curricula are notably different. Henley is, of course, one of the top European schools (http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/european-business-school-rankings-2013) with a strong focus on general management and soft skills. Thanks Duncan for your reply and the helpful links. They are very much appreciated.

I was just looking as well if there are any updates on people's views regarding both schools since there are only a few recent posts on them. Most of the posts were done back in 2012 and 2011 and the schools might have applied some recent changes that would be good to take note of.

I also thought that since Henley merged with the University of Reading, there might also be some new feedback especially since there was a different cohort, campus and curriculum for its MBA program.

As advised, I'll try to see if I can come up with more specific questions.

The curriculum is exactly the same, I think: Henley didn't always have a full-time MBA. Now it does, at the Reading campus. Because this is a site for applicants, you won't find feedback from students here, but there are over 150 posts discussing Henley, mostly from 2013 and 2014: http://www.find-mba.com/boardsearch/q/Henley but it's still too young a programme to be in any rankings.

I don't think the outcomes will be too different. Henley's a stronger school, so it should outperform Nottingham in the long-run, especially since employers pay a premium for GMAT schools and FT-ranked schools.
