Judge VS IE/Esade VS Trinity

Hi All,

I am an indian applicant for msc finance 2021 intake. I am a CFA level 2 candidate and have around 4+ years of work experience. My immediate goal after college is to work 2-3 years in the Investment management sector in European Markets.

Coming to colleges I have offer for msc finance from Trinity, Crainfield, Em-lyon and Esade. Hoping to get offers from IE (much confident) Judge (less confident) and SMU Singapore (confident).

As per the status quo I am inclined towards trinity as the country offers 2 years post study visa. Hoping to get offers from IE, Judge and SMU singapore.

I need guidance on which college will be a good investment if one wants to break in-to the Corporate finance sector. UK is one of the best options but the economy in UK is not in a good condition especially after Brexit. Also, I am open to suggestions if you have any college in mind good for msc finance and placements in corporate finance.

The FT MiF rankings have the data you need. Comparing the % employed and the international mobility #, I don't see why you could consider SMU or the Trinity MiF.

I agree with Judge. If you don't speak French or Spanish, EMLyon and ESADE are less interesting.

In terms of the strength of the UK finance sector, from somebody in your position, I don't think there will be a lack of firms recruiting from a school like Judge.

SMU would be an intriguing choice if your long-term goals lie in Asia.

SMU seems to have weak placement from the MFin, but the degree in wealth management seems to be good.

Thank you all for your thoughts. Judge will be an obvious choice here but I am skeptical about the economy of UK given the brexit and the stayback period of 2 years post the programme. Also, the program fees is double that of trinity I have offer from trinity dublin for msc. finance. Can someone guide me between Trinity and Judge. considering my long-term goal is to work in IB (sell or buy side) and considering the economy of ireland and UK?

The Trinity course costs less but isn't good at getting people into work. Cambridge costs more but has excellent placement. It looks like the investment is worthwhile. Calculate the NPV of the two degrees. The UK economy has taken a hit, but the FTSE has gone from under 5000 in March to over 6500 for most of this year. Hiring in a year and a half will be much stronger.
