Looking for advice on UK/Ireland Program w/Scholarships

Hi all!

I'm an American looking into getting my MBA in the UK or Ireland. I work in tech and am looking to relocate to one of those locations and get a better understanding of business in general.

My stats:
- Undergrad (public, average university) 3.5 GPA
- A technical masters / JD - with honors
- 9 years of work exp. 4 promotions, work for a blue chip company
- GMAT 700 (much higher verbal than quant)

I took the GMAT relatively cold and I believe could bump it up by 20 or so points.

I'm looking for schools that are a one year program and that I would be competitive for a scholarship at. I also know that schools in the UK / Ireland tend to be a bit tougher with scholarships, so I'm wondering about my chances at an Oxford / Cambridge. I'd be an older applicant (late 30's) so I know that's a negative for all admissions.

Duncan - thank you for your reply. This resonates with me. In the absence of scholarships, do you believe I would be competitive at Oxford / Cambridge / UCD?
I appreciate your time on this. Looking at your post history, I think you could write a book!

Certainly at UCD. I think it all hinges on your goals and what you have accomplished at and outside work. Applying early helps too, especially at Oxford because there are only so many American lawyers to fit in, and Oxford means so much more in the US than Cambridge.
