MBA in UK for an International Candidate

Hello Everyone,

I'm currently applying for MBA program at the UK.

Now I applied for some universities and unfortunately I got rejected due to my GPA (65%). Now what I can't understand is the filtration process that the universities follows. As I Studied Industrial Engineering with a minor of Management and German language, I believe that my gpa isn't that bad, when comparing to business undergraduate students, as their studies is much easier.

However, My CV is also interesting As I worked with:

- Airbus, Hamburg - Germany
- Two internships in Pharmaceutical companies
- Working now in a Consulting company that focuses in Business Process Management

I also worked with Coca-Cola Foundation as a Team leader of a Social Project for 6 months.

I do believe that GPA is essential, but If I'm motivated and self confident about being a Good Candidate, plus I'm the one who's paying the tuition fees.

Where is the Risk for the Universities to Accept me?

Please Advice.

Three factors:
- You don't mention having a GMAT score.
- Your English is not great. That could be a factor.
- Accredited MBAs in Europe also request three years post-graduation work experience, and that might also be a weakness.

I can't imagine that schools would reject you on your GPA alone. There would have to be other factors, in most cases.

Assuming you don't have any work experience, you might want to instead check out masters in management programs. In the UK, Manchester, LBS, Cass, Lancaster, Leeds, and a host of others offer decent MIMs.

In most cases, you'll probably have to take the GMAT. Even if a program says that it doesn't require the GMAT, a strong score on the test would help to offset your low GPA, and help admissions people to see that you're a serious candidate.

Badux, you are right. As I have only 2 years of experience (1 year full time after graduation, 1 year internship) it was a bit hard to get into top B-schools. I got two offers though. one from Kingston and one from Aberdeen. At this point, I have two options. I either go and choose one of them, or wait till next September (2016) to gain more experience and do my GMAT exam. I'm planning to do some certificates such as: CMA and Green built six sigma.

Meanwhile, which is the best option between Aberdeen and Kingston?
