MSc in Logistics Cranfield/WMG/Strathclyde

Hello all,

A little background about me. I have 2 years of consulting experience with Deloitte based in UAE. I have a degree in supply chain management from University of Houston specialized in strategic sourcing.

I am planning to pursue my postgraduate degree in logistics management. I got an offer from Cranfield, WMG Warwick, and Strathclyde. My goal of pursuing this degree is to jump to the industry away from consulting to get a hands on experience on logistics operations.

I am not sure which university has the best reputation in supply chain & logistics in the UK. I am also considering to get some experience in the UK like getting internship so that's one of the factors of choosing these schools.

I appreciate your advice.

I think it's between Warwick and Cranfield. I think careers services are better at Cranfield. Its course is probably better articulated and more cohesive educationally. The WMG courses tend to be made of modules that have to free-standing and capable of being taken in any order, meaning that there is some repetition and cohort spirit can be weaker.

I agree with Duncan. I did my undergraduate in logistics and operations specialism from Cardiff University and I used to refer heavily to journals published by academics from Cranfield University. I believe it offers the best supply chain masters in the UK. The WMG course comprises students mainly from China based on some chinese forums I read in the past so it can be a bit imbalance in terms of nationality and quality.

However, why would you do the same specialism for your masters since you did logistics for your first degree?

Thank you for your reply. My goal to do this specialism is to gain deep knowledge about logistics in specific. My B.S degree focused much on strategic sourcing and not much on the logistics operations. The other thing that drove me to MSc in logistic is that I want to move from consulting to industry (petrochemical industry particularly) and saw this MSc as an opportunity to foster my position in the market.
