Hi,

I am planning to do my MBA in the UK and I have been offered a place by the following Universities:

Sr. No. University Name
1 University of York (MSc - IB & SM)
2 University of Dundee (MSc - IB)
3 Aston University (MBA)
4 Newcastle University (MBA)
5 University of Essex (MBA)

A brief background about me:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Post Graduate Diploma in Management
Work Exp: 3 years

Can you please help me choose between these B-schools? I have been offered a scholarship of 7k pounds by the University of Essex which will significantly reduce my tuition costs. Hence, I'm inclined towards Essex. Will it be worth it?

Furthermore, I plan on staying back and working in the UK so I have to choose a university basis its employability factor and I am more interested in an MBA rather than an MSc. I am also waiting to hear from Exeter (Msc), Aberdeen (MBA), Sussex (MBA), and Swansea (MBA). Which are the top 2 or 3 universities out of these you suggest I should aim for?

There's a useful post on this site called "The sad facts about scholarships". Normally accepting a scholarship is a false economy because you attend a worse school rather than a better one.

Why are you applying to these schools rather than schools with better placement?

Thank you for your insight, Stuart. I had budget constraints hence went for these universities. I think these are the best ones I can get which have a tuition fee of 20k pounds or less. Could you please help me out by letting me know which are the top 2/3 out of these, in your opinion? I am planning for the January 2021 session.

Is your Scottish option at the Aberdeen Business School, at RGU, or at the University of Aberdeen?

I'm really confused between Newcastle or Essex MBA degrees and the York or Dundee MSc degrees when it comes to employment. I am planning on accepting Aberdeen (if they make me an offer) or Newcastle. What do you suggest?

I don't have the time to review the placement data for those schools but, of course, I suggest you do that. UoAberdeen is a freshers MBA without meaningful international accreditation, and the oil industry is hit hard in that city where it's the major employer, so I would probably put Newcastle above that.
