Fordham vs Baruch CUNY (MS in Marketing)

Apologies for posting a non-MBA related query. My sister got admits from Fordham MS in Marketing Intelligence (MSMI) and the Baruch CUNY MS in Marketing program.

I researched a lot, talked with few alumni but couldn't figure out if one has any significant statistical advantage in career outcomes over the other.

Fordham MSMI
Pros: Good curriculum, Now was a STEM OPT for MSMI
Cons: $57,000 (not really a con), lack of appearance in rankings (not really a con)

Baruch MSM
Pros: Good curriculum, Costs $28,000 even for International students, high visibility in rankings (TFE)
Cons: 1 year OPT (not really a con)

Even though Baruch appears in ranking more frequently - I am not a big fan of rankings. From an academic standpoint - both seem like a good school. Both schools have similar reputation (opinions welcome) as 2nd Tier NYC school
From Career viewpoint - Both claim that students find employment with avg. salary of $55,000. Neither provides a detailed report.

I am inclined towards Fordham because of STEM OPT

I think you're right. The two programs will recruit different students. Especially if she isn't already well connected in NYC, a two-year programme is much better and a private school like Fordham has more elan.

I would agree - Fordham would most likely have more experience than CUNY in placing international students - or at least pointing them in the right direction - since the CUNY staff is most likely more accustomed to working with locals. Both programs look really interesting though, and I'm surprised that the Fordham one is STEM OPT certified. Seems like a great benefit for internationals.

She has nothing but praises for the program. She liked the location of the campus in Columbus circle vs Bronx. She also liked the sequencing of the subjects and ample amount of hands-on exposure to analytical tools.
She was a part of various student consulting projects and did client presentation in Pittsburgh, PA and New York, NY. Soon after graduation, one of the professor (or maybe it was director - I forgot) of the MSMI program helped her get in touch with a company where she joined as Marketing Analyst. The salary is little less for NYC if you ask me, but provided they are willing to sponsor her H1B in future make it worth.
Also the Fordham MSMI program is STEM OPT approved, the reason why we ignored a much affordable CUNY Baruch, DC based Kogod, much reputed Johns Hopkins, and Boston based Bentley University
