Part-time US MBA Suggestions

I've seen some recent posts on people seeking advice on part-time MBA programs in the States - so I thought I'd throw a handful of options that maybe don't make it to the top of every list.

North Carolina State/Jenkins: Good biotech/bioscience concentrations. Also offers a flexible distance learning options.

Villanova University: Strong finance and marketing specializations, along with a decent healthcare course offering.

Elon/Love: Always strongly placed in part-time rankings due to its good career resources and alumni network.

University of Nevada, Reno: Solid curriculum focused on core competencies like marketing and finance.

Bentley University also has a great part time MBA program with some distance learning options. It's definitely worth adding to the list!

I don't know if I'd put the Bentley program in the same tier as the others in this list - it's a decent AACSB-accredited program but the school has been dropping in the rankings over the past few years. Plus it's a bit pricey compared to most of the others I listed here. I guess a selling point is the school's proximity to Cambridge and Boston - for those entrepreneurial-minded students who want a close network of angels and VC firms.

I am hugely unimpressed by the few Bentley alumni I've met. They have good financial aid for RAs though.

Thought I'd add a couple more programs to this list - these are more entrepreneurship/innovation oriented than the others:

Lehigh University - good regional school in Pennsylvania, but within driving distance to NYC (networking opportunities.) Lehigh has a new Corporate Entrepreneurship concentration that has a pretty unique and innovative curriculum.

Worcester Polytechnic - good flexible part-time program. You can choose to take some courses online, depending on your needs. Curriculum is a good mix of innovation, strategy, and core business courses.

This is an old post I know but does anybody have any up to date info about Villanova University's Fast Track MBA? Very interested in hearing any recent reviews or thoughts on the matter as I am potentially registering soon.

It's a decent school, has AACSB accreditation. Certainly good, regionally.

What are your goals?

If you're a local, Philadelphia of course hosts a number of great part-time programs: Wharton School, Temple, Drexel...

Goals are pretty standard for getting an MBA - more seniority, better salary.

The thing is that Villanova would be much easier for me in terms of commuting to and from - it's about a 20 minute drive from where I am. Going to Philadelphia would be about 3-4 times that each way depending on traffic plus parking and all that. Easily more than an hour or more on public transit. Not easy to work that in with a kid and work if you understand.

It's often the case that the Philadelphia b-schools offer their part-time programs in other locations. For example, can you get to Conshohocken more easily? Temple (Fox) offers a part-time program there. Drexel offers its part-time MBA in Malvern.
